In this era of technology, The Lord’s Foundation Academy believes in the hands-on approach method of teaching. In view of this, practical lessons in various subjects are given priority
The Lord's Foundation Academy runs the Ghana Education Service Curriculum concurrently with the Cambridge Curriculum in a more standardized way in order to meet the requirements of a world-class basic school. Apart from the prescribed curriculum for basic schools, The Lord's Foundation Academy has gone the extra mile to integrate other extracurricular programs into its curriculum.
The Lord’s Foundation Academy believes in a holistic approach to the development of the child. We also blend our academic work with extra-curricular activities to ensure the child’s total psychomotor development. For that matter, the school organizes both indoor and outdoor extra-curricular activities in Football, Volley ball, Table tennis, Basketball, Oware games, Draughts, Monopoly games etc. for the children. The school again encourages the formation of clubs such as Writers’ and Debaters’ club, Drama club, Science and Math club, Cadet Corps, Girls Guide, Red Cross etc.;
For our students to keep abreast of current trends, they are encouraged to listen to the news every evening and report on the same every morning in class before active lessons commence.
The classes have been grouped into four (4) departments each, headed by a departmental head.
Teaching and learning at The Lord's Foundation Academy is done in an improved way by integrating ICT and the use of audiovisual aids.
We ensure that our facilitators strictly employ the child-centered approach to teaching and learning. An enabling environment is created in our classrooms for learners to explore, interact, and feel safe while learning.
There are enough teaching and learning materials to make teaching and learning very easy.
Assessment / Examination
Facilitators are encouraged to conduct regular assessment to ascertain whether the instructions delivered were properly understood or not.
Facilitators are expected to assess learners daily after each lesson. Assessment could either be oral or written.
At the end of each month, learners are again given a monthly assessment (for everything studied within the month).
Apart from our internal assessment, learners (finalist in JHS 3) are also assessed by the West Africa Examination Council annually, thus the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Homework / Research
It is the policy of the school to give homework or research work regularly. This is done to complement the teaching and learning done in school and also encourage learners to develop the habit of learning on their own.
Parents are encouraged to only assist learners in their research work or homework by providing further explanations. Parents are discouraged from writing and providing direct answers for learners.
